Barbara J. Babcock

Barbara J. Babcock, 86, of Battle Creek, died February 19, 2025. Barb was born October 5, 1938 in Coldwater, MI to Carl and LaMoyne (Hall) Babcock. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1956. Barb spent the majority of her working career as a computer and switchboard operator at Leila Hospital. 

Barb enjoyed music, playing bingo and watching tv, especially the Detroit Tigers. 

Barb is survived by her sister, Janice (James) Standley and her nieces and nephews, Linda (Don) Steen, William (Teresa) Morris, Chester (Shelly Ferguson) Morris, Eric (Jennifer) Morris, Lisa (Bob) Schreiner, Scott Riddle, Marty Riddle and Todd Riddle. 

Barb was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Virginia Riddle. 

Funeral services to celebrate Barb’s life will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Visitation will be one hour prior, starting at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at Hicks Cemetery in Pennfield Township. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Humane Society of South Central MI or a Humane Society of one’s choice.
