Barbara Jean Johnson, 85, passed away on December 3, 2015, with her loving family around her.
Barb was born on January 9, 1930 in Battle Creek to the late Burl and Lucille (Markham) Brott. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1948. Barb married William Robert Johnson II on September 4, 1948. Barb worked as the secretary for the principal at Pennfield High School for 28 years.
Barb was a very active member at Pennfield Presbyterian Church. She loved watching her husband, children, and grandchildren playing sports and other activities. She enjoyed watching Tiger Baseball and loved to dance and travel. She also loved being with her family and all of her friends.
Barb will be missed by her husband of 67 years; her children Bill Johnson, Dawn (Kevin) Casey; grandchildren, Heather (Brad) Harris, Bill (Megan) Johnson, Sara (Steve) Doinidis, Tyler Casey and Alex Casey; sister, Vivian Harleston, and several nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends.
Barb was proceeded in death by her brother Lewis Brott; son; Garry Lee Johnson; granddaughter, Heidi Johnson, and great-grandson, Parker Harris.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where funeral services to celebrate Barb's life will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 11, officiated by Rev. Douglas R. Nettleton. Memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, American Diabetes Association, the American Kidney Association or the Alzheimer's/Dementia Association.
