Barbara Joan Shedd

Barbara Joan Shedd, age 65, of Battle Creek went to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday evening, July 21, 2015. She was born in Lansing, Michigan on November 24, 1949, the loving daughter of Albert L. and Blondell (Roberts) Greer. Barbara graduated from Battle Creek Central High School with the Class of 1968, and furthered her education at K.C.C. and the American Institute of Banking. She worked for many years at Michigan National Bank and as Office Manager at Battle Creek Ice and Polar Ice.

Barbara married the "Love of Her Life", Bert J. Shedd in Battle Creek on September 23, 1978; he survives. She is also survived by her sons, Bert Lynn Shedd of San Diego, California and David Michael Shedd of Battle Creek; her mother, Blondell Greer of Battle Creek; her sister, Jackie Bass of Lansing, and several nieces & nephews. Barbara was sadly preceded in death by her father, Rev. Albert L. Greer on June 21, 2005.

A true lover of the Lord and music, over the years, Barbara actively attended, sang in the choirs, and taught children's Sunday school at Temple Baptist Church, Level Park Baptist Church, Christ Community Church, and was currently serving at Harper Creek Baptist Church. Barbara loved her family and taking care of her boys. She enjoyed her "Bunco Girls", her penguin collection, and Southern Gospel music and followed the "Hoppers" all over the country.

The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care where funeral services to celebrate Barbara's life will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Interment will be held privately at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Bronson at Home Good Samaritan Hospice Residence.
