Barbara June Tibbs (Peterson) of Battle Creek, MI
Barbara died early Saturday morning, December 27, 2014 at her home with loving family at her side.
Barbara was a life-long resident of Battle Creek, born on December 3, 1937 to her parents, June and Ralph Peterson. She graduated from Lakeview High
School in 1956 and married three years later to William Tibbs. They had their first child, Michael in 1960 and their second, Patricia in 1963. Barbara worked at Clark Equipment Company, Worgess Insurance and later was employed for 15 years at the Federal Center in Battle Creek. She was a member of the Battle Creek Women's League for several years. A wonderful, devoted wife and mother, Barbara was a compassionate and loving person. She was a prolific reader, expressive watercolor artist, avid bridge player and bird watching enthusiast, but her true passion in life was taking care of her family and enjoying her friends.
Barbara is survived by her son Michael and his wife Marjorie of Granger, IN; daughter Patricia and her husband Monty Marcus of Rochester, MI and grandchildren Bill, Barbara Ann, Alec and Ian.
A Celebration of Life ceremony and luncheon will be held for Barbara on Friday, January 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at Riverside County Club, 245 E Columbia
