Betty Joyce Palmiter

Betty Joyce Palmiter, age 77 of Battle Creek passed away peacefully on Friday, March 22, 2024 at the Oaks at NorthPointe Woods.   She was born in Battle Creek on August 22, 1946 the daughter of Amos and Juanita (Rudd) Favorite.  Betty graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and retired from Goodwill Industries.  

Betty married Jonathon Marc Palmiter on July 14, 1968 and that marriage ended in divorce.  She is survived by her children, Carissa (Robin) Schragg, Mary (Philip) Dunlap and Delta Dawn Palmiter; her grandchildren, Meagan DeYoung, Austin Dunlap, Joshua Dunlap, and Caleb Dunlap; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie DeYoung and Jasper Dunlap; her sister, Penny Watson and several nieces & nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Amber Dunlap; her parents; and five brothers & sisters, Virgil Burton, Kenny Favorite, Larry (Anna) Favorite, Carey Burton, and Sandra Lemmons.  

Betty was a member of the Andrus Street Church of God where she faithfully served in the nursery for many years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing Monopoly and other board games, and listening to Elvis music.  Betty absolutely loved children and spending time with her family and church family.  

A memorial service to celebrate Betty's life will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at the Andrus Street Church of God 765 Andrus St. Battle Creek, MI 49015 where the family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The service was recorded and may be viewed below.
