Blaine Anthony Prior, 61, of Battle Creek, died unexpectedly Friday, July 24, 2015. Blaine was born October 25, 1953 in Battle Creek to John and Shirley (Roebuck) Prior. He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1971, attended K.C.C. and graduated from Western Michigan University, while making the Dean's List. He worked at Michigan National Bank and then Behnke Trucking for the last 25 years.
Blaine was a proud member of the Battle Creek Jaycees for many years, holding all positions on the board, including President from 1993-1994. He was also involved in many political campaigns over the years. Blaine was an avid reader, enjoyed bowling, loved kids and enjoyed a wide range of music from Beethoven to the Kinks.
Blaine is survived by his two brothers, Kevin (Roxanna) Prior and Garth (Nona) Prior; a sister, Candy Prior Ginn; three nephews, Brandon Prior, Craig Jabkiewicz and Joey Jabkiewicz; 1 niece, April Prior Batten; his best friend, Mary O'Connell and his beloved pet, Callie. Blaine was preceded in death by his parents, John and Shirley, his step-father, Ken Price and a niece, Sara Jabkiewicz.
Funeral services to celebrate Blaine's life will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home and Cremation Care, officiated by Pastor Kim Clifford. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, starting at 1:00 p.m. Those wishing to make memorial contributions may choose a charity of one's choice or to the family.
