Brenda S. Landers

Brenda S. Landers, age 73, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on Thursday morning, November 16, 2023.  She was born in Coldwater, Michigan on January 1, 1950, the daughter of Clyde and Virginia (Kelly) Clutter.  

Brenda married Robert H. “Bob” Landers in Battle Creek on February 14, 1997; he sadly preceded her in death on May 2, 2020.  She is survived by her children, David (Wendy) MacPherson, Gini (Roger) Williams, Beckie MacPherson, and Micki MacPherson; several grandchildren & great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Coree) Clutter; and two sisters, Cindy (Joe) Stotz and Berta Smith.  Brenda was also preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Melissa Hughes; her granddaughter, Angelina MacPherson; and a brother, Randy Tite.

Brenda was formerly a member of the Eagles Aerie #299, the P.N.A. #2416, and the Moose Lodge.  She was truly the matriarch of the family and loved family holiday gatherings, making sure she took care of every detail, did everything to prepare an incredible Thanksgiving meal, and always enjoyed her wine at Christmas. Brenda enjoyed writing poetry and had several of her poems published.  Brenda also enjoyed crocheting, baking & cooking, fishing, playing all types of board, card & dice games, collecting angels, spoiling the animals, and most of all, Brenda truly loved watching anything on Channel 3 and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 21^st at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek where services to celebrate Brenda’s life will begin at 1:30 p.m.  The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed at https://vimeo.com/event/3896112. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the Parkinson’s Foundation.  Personal messages for the family and favorite memories of Brenda may be placed here at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
