Carolyn L. Robbins

Carolyn L. Robbins, age 77, of Sherwood, MI, died Friday evening, April 26, 2013 at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence of Battle Creek, MI surrounded by her loving family.

Carolyn, the daughter of Homer and Doris (Buntain) Follis, was born on May 31, 1935 in Brown County, IN. She retired as a Librarian for the Branch County Library. Carolyn was a member of the Crossroads Bible Church of Sherwood and its Bible Study Group and the Sherwood Garden Club. Her and her husband, Dick enjoyed traveling and her hobbies were numerous such as cooking and baking for the family, collecting jewelry, lighthouses, shopping, gardening, nature especially birds, photography and arts and crafts, but her true passion in life was her family!

On February 1, 1956 in Angola, IN, Carolyn was united in marriage to Richard L. "Dick" Robbins, who preceded her in death on June 27, 2011. Surviving is her daughter, Sherry L. (Tim) Starr of Charlotte, MI; her two sons, David L. (Rhonda) Robbins of Alpena, MI and John E. (Melinda) Robbins of Sherwood; twelve grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; her mother, Doris Follis of Coldwater, MI; two sisters, Vickie (Chuck) Swarthout of Barryton, MI and Yvonne Fenton of Sherwood and her brother, Chester (Betty) Follis of Coldwater. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Homer.

The Funeral Service to celebrate Carolyn's life will be held on Wednesday, May 1st at 11:00 a.m. at the Crossroads Bible Church, 1144 Dunks Road, Sherwood, MI 49089 with Pastor Trent A. Hammond, officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the Church. Interment will follow at Sherwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Carolyn's honor may be directed to the Crossroads Bible Church, Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence or the Sherwood Garden Club.
