Colleen Grace Hayes

Colleen Grace Hayes, age 66 of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, October 9, 2023 at the Rose Arbor Place in Kalamazoo.  She was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 4, 1957, the daughter of Bradley and Jeanette Anderson. 

Colleen had a very giving heart and was always taking care of others and made everyone in her life feel special in their own way. She absolutely loved her family and was very protective of all of them.  Colleen was very spunky & playful, and enjoyed playing softball,  watching her Detroit Lions and playing board games & cards with her family. She also enjoyed the outdoors and made friendships everywhere she went. 

Colleen is survived by her children, Chuck (wife, Cassie) Kohler, Jr. of Battle Creek, Chris Kohler of Augusta, and Candi Kohler of Battle Creek; a brother, Dave Gorney; sisters, Kathleen (husband, Donald) Addison and Ileen Buruca-Rodriguez; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a very large extended family.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Marsha Anderson; a sister-in-law, Ruthie Gorney; and her ex-husband & dear friend, Keith Alvin Hayes.
