Officer Collin James Rose, age 29, passed away on November 23, 2016. Collin leaves behind his lovely fiancé, Nicole Salgot, parents; Randy and Karen Rose, brother, Curtis, Grandma, Margaret Rysz, Grandpa, Clifford Rose, Aunts and Uncles; Debbie (Fred) Winkler, Diana (Robert) Shafer and David (Cheryl) Rose, in laws; Cheryl (Steve) Salgot, brothers in law; Mark (Karen Light) Poulter and Matt Salgot and his dogs; Clyde and Wolverine. He had many cousins, friends, and family in blue that are going to miss him as well.
Collin was a big supporter of anything involving fallen officers. He rode in the Unity Tour where he later proposed to Nikki. He was a member of the Metro Detroit Schutzhund Club where they trained the dogs using the schutzhund style of training. Collin had his own mug on the wall at the Baffin Brewery. Collin's life was taken much too soon but not before he was able to make a huge impact on all of the lives of those who knew him.
Public visitations will be held 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday November 30th at Ford Field, 2000 Brush St. Detroit, MI 48226 and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave, St. Clair Shores, MI 48080. Public visitation will also be held 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 1st at the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 22412 Overlake St., St. Clair Shore, MI 48080 where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at approx. 1:00 pm at Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Rd. Clinton Twp, MI 48038. A Memorial Mass will also be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 2nd at St. Ann Catholic Church, 12648 East D Ave, Augusta, MI 49012. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Collin's honor may de directed to the Gull Lake Community Schools Foundation, 11775 East D Avenue, Richland, MI 49083. The Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel (269-629-6022) is assisting Collin's family with his local arrangements.
