Dennis C. "Denny" Grimm

Dennis C. "Denny" Grimm, age 71, of Richland went to be with his Lord & Savior on Thursday morning, February 26, 2015. He was born in Vicksburg, Michigan on April 19, 1943, the loving son of Frank L. and Beverly J. (Canavan) Grimm. Denny graduated from Vicksburg High School where he was active in the band and participated in many sports. He furthered his education at The University of Michigan and received his Master's Degree from Western Michigan University. Denny retired from Parchment High School in 1992 after more than 25 years of faithful service as a Business Education and DECA teacher.

Denny married the "Love of His Life", Sally G. Dornbos in Kalamazoo on April 12, 1975. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 40 years; his two sons, David Grimm of Los Angeles, California and Eric (Kristen) Grimm of Richland; his two grandsons, Dennis Reece Grimm and Shawn Thomas Grimm; his aunt & uncle, Ruth Ann & Otto Batts; his sister-in-law, Susan Grimm, and many nieces & nephews. Denny was sadly preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dale Grimm and Doug Grimm.

Denny was an avid sports fan and rooted for all Detroit teams and of course his U of M teams. He was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity Alumni and was active for many years with the Richland Community Volunteers and the Gull Lake Sports Boosters. Denny enjoyed coffee time with his friends, oldies music, collecting records, his Green House in Ludington, and loved spending time with his family, especially his two grandsons. He attended Gracespring Bible Church and formerly had been an active member of New Hope Church in Richland.

A memorial service to celebrate Denny's life will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Gracespring Bible Church, 8643 Gull Rd, Richland, MI 49083, with a 10:00am visitation for family and friends, preceding the service. Denny will be interred at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington, Michigan at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to Reverence Hospice.
