Diana L. (Sabin) Kubitz

Battle Creek

Diana L. (Sabin) Kubitz, 75, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. She was born in Battle Creek on November 15, 1948, the daughter of Nelson C. and Vera L. (Dennis) Sabin. 

After attending Penfield High School, she attended KCC classes and was employed at Michigan National Bank and State Farm Insurance.

Diana married Gary Kubitz in Battle Creek, Michigan, on June 29, 1968.  Diana's life was a testament to her love for her family, friends, and the Brittany breed. Her passion led her to numerous achievements, including the 1992 National Brittany Amateur Field Championship with her Brittany “Dual and Amateur Champion Renegades Kansas Kid Hall of Fame.” In 2022, she was inducted into the Brittany Field Trial Hall of Fame. She dedicated 50 years to advocating, handling, breeding, and playing supporting roles, and held many offices in the Battle Creek Kennel Club, Western Michigan Brittany Club, and American Brittany Club.

Diana will be remembered for all of her contributions to the Brittany Breed and her family and friends. Always there with advice and support, her vibrant spirit shining through. She loved her family, her Brittanys, chocolate, flowers, and a good celebration. Always cheerful and bright, she loved anything magenta and purple.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Kubitz; her brother, Nelson (Wendy) Sabin; her nephew, Travis (Angel) Sabin; and her niece, Sabrina (DJ) London.  Diana was Preceded in death by her parents, Nelson C. and Vera L. Sabin; and her sister, Mary Jo Sabin.
