Esther Ican

January 18, 1942 — May 17, 2021

Esther Ican, age 79, of Bellevue, Michigan passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, May 17, 2021 at the Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born in Battle Creek on January 18, 1942, the daughter of Elmer and Ruth (McClellan) Andrews. Esther retired after more than 35 years as a staffing coordinator with Community & Leila Hospitals and Battle Creek Health Systems.

Esther married Thomas Richard Ican on August 27, 1965; he sadly preceded her in death on August 11, 2002. She is survived by her children, Terry (Sabrina) Ican of Virginia and Tracy Ican-Krammin of Kalamazoo; four grandchildren, Jack Krammin, Leah, Sarah & Olivia Ican; two brothers, Mark & Danny Andrews; a sister, Debbie (Rex) Todd; two nieces, Shila Ramon and Mindy (Todd) Woodworth; and several great-nieces & nephews.

Esther was a member of the Charlotte Seventh-day Adventist Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, painting, and all types of arts & crafts. Esther loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and her great-nieces & nephews.

The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 3rd at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. Funeral services to celebrate Esther's life will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 4th at the Fort Custer National Cemetery. The service was recorded and may be viewed at https://vimeo.com/559427491.
