Gabriel R. "Gabe" Scott of Delton, MI, formerly of Richland, MI
Gabe, age 21, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023 at the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, Grand Rapids, MI.
Gabe Scott, was born in Kalamazoo, MI on August 23, 2001 and was a 2019 graduate of Gull Lake High School, Richland, MI. A bright young mind, he lived his life with a curiosity and generosity rarely found so naturally and so young. He made friends wherever he went, even breaking the physical barriers of distance and creating a thriving family among the online community and avid video gamers. It was impossible for his wit and humor to go unnoticed, taking every chance to use his quick thinking for a good laugh to lighten the mood. His determination and positivity allowed him to spend more time with the people he cared about than any one of us could have ever asked from him.
Gabe is survived by his mother, Starla Scott of Delton (formerly Augusta, MI); his sister, Megan Scott of Kalamazoo, MI; his brother, Alexander "Alex" (Emily Marshall) Scott of Marshall, MI; his paternal grandparents, Charlie and Betsie Scott and his maternal grandmother, Joyce Wank of Augusta, MI. Also supporting Gabe, was his dearly loved girlfriend, Josie Baliff. Gabe was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Richard Wank, and father, Jonathan "Jon" Scott.
A memorial gathering will be 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on March 18, 2023 at Blue Stem Restaurant.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gabe's honor may be directed to these two foundations that provided Gabe with supports and opportunities during his challenging endeavors.
