Gary Dean Burt

Gary Dean Burt, age 69, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully on Monday, September 11, 2023 at the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo.  He was born in Battle Creek on March 2, 1954, the son of Clellan and Ruth (Krontz) Burt.  He faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army and retired from the Battle Creek Federal Center in 2007 after more than 39 years.  Gary enjoyed being outdoors, hunting & fishing, playing cards, going to the movies, and spending time with his family.

Gary is survived by the “Love of His Life”, Janice (Everett) Burt; his children, Moran Severson, Brandi Lawrence and Scottie Misner; his grandchildren, Austin Severson, Logan Misner, and Ashley Misner; a great-granddaughter, Aliyah Severson; his brother, Rick Burt; three nieces & a nephew, Tammy Munoz, Crystal Klusman, Brittany Everett, and David Munoz.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Darlene Burt.

The family will receive friends 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday, September 18^th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek where services to celebrate his life will begin at 12:30 p.m., Monday.  Interment with full military honors will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Personal messages for the family and favorite memories of Gary may be placed here at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
