George Allen Moore

George Allen Moore, age 96, of Battle Creek passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Legacy at The Oaks, Battle Creek. He was born in Battle Creek on April 4, 1928, the loving son of George H. and Myrtle (Rambow) Moore. George faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Navy for 4 years aboard the U.S.S. Boxer. He worked in the drafting department at the Kellogg Co. and then served for many years as a Union Carpenter with Murray Construction, retiring in 1998. George built two homes over the years including his home in Bedford in 1957.

George married the "Love of His Life", Alice L. Rule in Battle Creek on December 17, 1949; she sadly preceded him in death on April 24, 2022. He is survived by several nieces & nephews. George was also preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Fred Moore.

George was a member & Past-Master of the Bedford Lodge #207 F.&A.M. and the Bedford O.E.S. Chapter # 471. He was also a member of the Battle Creek Corvette Club (Past-President), Bedford Hills Country Club, and Carpenters Local #525. George enjoyed gardening, deer hunting, fishing and was an avid wood carver. 

The family would like to extend a warm “Thank You” to the staff at the Legacy at The Oaks for the wonderful care & compassion they gave to George in his final days.

At George’s request, cremation has taken place and no services are being planned. He will be inurned at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek.
