Gladys Elizabeth (Lang) Miller of Battle Creek, MI


Gladys, age 91, went to be with her Lord Friday morning, July 29, 2016 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Gladys, the daughter of Robert and Mamie (Brown) Lang, was born in Decatur, AL on May 3, 1925. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and thoroughly enjoyed taking care of all of them. Gladys' favorite time was going to 20th Street Church of Christ for the past 52 years.

Gladys was united in marriage to Oscar M. Miller in Decatur, AL on February 13, 1943 and sadly he preceded her in death on July 5, 1981. Surviving are three daughters, Patricia A. Reichert of West Palm Beach, FL, Janice A. (John) Finch and Teresa L. (Pat) Gordier, both of Battle Creek; fourteen grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; her sister, Jenny McMillion of Marshall, MI and a brother, Rayburn (Beverly) Lang of Battle Creek. Gladys was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Cheryl G. Miller; two sons; Randall R. and Jimmy R. Miller; a sister and six brothers.

The Funeral Service to celebrate Gladys' life will be held on Tuesday, August 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek, with Pastor Josh Hydrick, officiating. Interment will follow at Hicks Cemetery, Penfield Township. Family and friends will return to the 20th Street Church of Christ, 122 N. 20th Street, Battle Creek, MI 49015 immediately following the committal for a time of fellowship and a luncheon. Gladys' family will greet friends on Monday, August 1st from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gladys' honor may be directed to the Church.
