Harold H. Sweeter

Harold Herman "Harry" Sweeter, age 83, of Battle Creek, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2021. He was born on May 3, 1937 in Sauk Rapids, MN to Henry and Edna (Swartz) Sweeter. He graduated from Big Lake High School in Minnesota.

Harry served in the U.S. Air Force for over 10 years during the end of the Korean War and the beginning of the Vietnam War and was also part of the Air National Guard. After his service, he worked as a hospital tech in Battle Creek. Harry was also a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and enjoyed camping and bowling.

On February 22, 1964, Harry married the "Love of His Life", Lois Ann Hibbard. Harry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lois; children, Donald (Cindy) Sweeter, Sherri (Doug) Mellen, and Cynthia (Bill) Mexico; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Marvin Sweeter and Arnold (Donna) Sweeter, and sister, Bernice (Duane) Peterson. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, James Sweeter and Roger Sweeter.

Harry's family will receive friends at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 10:000 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church on Friday, April 23, 2021.
