Helen A Yates 94, of Battle Creek, MI died June 17,2020 at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. She was born April 19,1926 in Marshall, MI to Frank and Elinor Sebring. She attended Marshall Schools.
Helen was a medical secretary for Dr. Royer until retiring in 1967. She was a member of Pennfield Presbyterian Church. Helen enjoyed spending time with her family, as well as hosting weekend parties on the lake with her friends and their families. She loved gardening and enjoyed watching the birds on her bird feeders. She spent the last nine years at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility where she formed lasting friendships with other residents and staff.
Surviving are her daughters Linda Winter and Robbin Perkins both of Battle Creek, grand children Toni Miller and Richard Bork of Battle Creek, MI, Terry and Jennie McKee of Chicago, IL, Eric and Bonnie Reutell of Chicago, IL, and Nancy Perkins and Kim Worthington of Bronson, MI; great-grandchildren, Hope Earl, Rob Mitchell of Grand Rapids, MI, Ondi and Allison Miller of Battle Creek, MI, Ethan and Lottie McKee of Chicago, IL., and Zachary and Preston Perkins of Bronson, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Earl Yates, her companion of 20 years, Frank Wagner, sons; David and Jeff Yates, and her parents.
A visitation will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 105 Capital Ave. N.E. with a funeral service at 12 noon, that same day, at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Smothers of the 7th Day Baptist Church of Battle Creek, officiating.
