Jalen Christopher-Lee Potter, age 27 of Battle Creek, tragically passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Jalen was born in Battle Creek, MI on October 20, 1993. He was the son of Corey J. Potter and Veronica (Stalhood) Barr. He graduated from Harper Creek High School with the class of 2012. Jalen most recently worked for the family business Evolution Edibles, but his passion was his photography and he started his own business JCLP Photography.
Jalen is survived by his parents; his sister, Nyah Potter; his grandmothers, Christine McGuffey of Battle Creek, Deb (Scott) Jones of Tennessee, Ramona Potter of Battle Creek; several aunts and uncles and more cousins than one person should be blessed enough to have. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jesse Potter and David McGuffey.
Jalen was a gifted photographer, creator and explorer. He loved going on adventures and getting lost to marvel in the beauty of everything. Jalen saw the world thru the eyes of an artist and could see the light both in the broken bottle and the diamond. He was fearless and didn't care what anyone thought of him. He wasn't afraid to be silly by saying or doing the absolute most to make you laugh including speaking with a British accent for almost 2 years. Jalen's family and friends were everything to him. He was fiercely protective and watched over his people like a shepherd hold his flock. J was filled with a magnificent light and he would shift the energy in any room he entered. His way of loving was God-like and he hugged from the very bottom of his soul. If he loved you, you definitely felt it but he still made sure to say it anyway.
Jalen will be deeply and forever loved and missed by his family, his friends, his dog Bella and everyone who knew him.
