James "Jim" Baksi

James S. "Jim" Baksi, 88, of Galesburg, died January 25, 2023. Jim was born December 3, 1934 in Maple Heights, OH to Emerich and Mary Baksi. He served honorably in the United States Navy and worked for Otis Elevator and Post Cereals in elevator maintenance. He was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Ann Catholic Church. Jim enjoyed playing chess and the lottery.

Jim married the former Dolores Roskos on November 3, 1962, who survives. He is also survived by his son, Gregory Baksi and his grandson, Christopher Baksi. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Baksi and a brother, Ronald Baksi.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate Jim's life will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 20, 2023 at St. Ann Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass, starting at 10:00 a.m. in the social hall. Arrangements by the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Augusta Chapel.
