James M. Curran

James Michael Curran, 71, of Battle Creek passed away at home on Wednesday, July 21, 2021.

He was born on March 10, 1950 in Battle Creek to Wallace and Barbara Curran, and lived most of his life in the Battle Creek area. He served his country faithfully in the U.S. Marine Corps. Outside of his service, he worked in construction.

James loved hunting and football. His favorite teams were the Detroit Lions and U of M. He also enjoyed old country westerns and was a huge fan of John Wayne.

James is survived by two sons, Nick (Melissa) Curran and Jeff Curran; daughters, Jamie and Beth Curran; grandchildren, Stephen, Josiah, Callum, and Joshua; and a sister, Janice (Tim) Gibbs. He was preceded in death by parents, sister, Suzanne, and brother, Steven.

A service to celebrate James's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2021 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care.
