James A. Gault, 91, of Battle Creek, died Saturday, July 23, 2016. James was born January 24, 1925 in Mancelona, MI to Robert an Genevieve (Rochelle) Gault. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and served honorably in the U.S Navy during WWII. As a signalman. As a jack-of-all trades, James had many jobs, but he mainly worked as a farmer for many years.
James loved to tinker around the house on different projects. He had a rare talent of repairing old books. He enjoyed westerns and reading.
James is survived by two sisters, Joan Towery and Ruth Stevens; four nephews, Robert (Paula) Towery, David (Pat) Stevens , Raymond Stevens, and Brian Gaul; one niece, Janet Gault ; six great-nieces and nephews, Meghan (Josh) Towery, Melissa (Lyle) Holibaugh, Shane Towery, Michaela Tower, Gavin Towery, Jessica (Sean) Valenzuela, and many great-great nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Robert Gault, David Gault, John Gault, and a nephew, Mark Gault.
Funeral services to celebrate James' life will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, officiated by Rev. Robert G. Muirhead. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, August 5, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
