Born to James Laurence McNamee and Mary Ellen Cipcic on July 4th 1940 in Battle Creek, Michigan, James Willard McNamee passed quietly in his sleep on December 30th, 2012. In life he worked on the railroad, the tool and die industry and was a fan of a good hunt.
He was much loved by friends and family. No one can say that he did not bring a smile to the faces of those he touched. He was a man who would give you the shirt off his back with a wise crack on the side. In life he worked hard, lived harder and took life as he wanted it. An Irish Proverb says it best, “a good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in the doctor’s book.”
He is survived by his son James D. McNamee, daughter in law Natalie, grand children Meghan and Daymen McNamee, brothers Michael and Patrick McNamee, nephews Michael P. McNamee and Alexander McNamee, and cousins Gary and Norma Galloway, Sandra Galloway, and Tammy Cipcic.
A memorial and celebration of life service is planned for later in the year when the weather in warmer. Date will be announced.
