James Randall "Randy" Myers

James Randall "Randy" Myers, 71, of Battle Creek died peacefully at the Oaks on Sunday, April 7, 2019.

Randy was born October 22, 1947 in Battle Creek the son of Dewey D. and Helen June (Little) Myers. He was a lifelong Battle Creek resident and a 1966 graduate of Harper Creek High School. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy. Randy retired from the Power House at the Kellogg Company. After retiring, he sold insurance.

Randy married Carlene Diane Church on September 9, 1974 in Battle Creek, Michigan. Surviving are Carlene, his wife of 44 years; their daughter, Shannon (Jason) Rose of Battle Creek, two grandchildren, Christopher Rose and Caitlin Rose and a brother, Stephen (Janice) Myers of Santa Teresa, NM, Nephews Sean (Robert) Blanton, Christopher (Jennifer) Myers, Matthew (Emily) Myers, In-laws Richard and Amy Outman. Randy was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry Myers.

Randy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club. Randy was a Past Master and past Mason of the Year of Bedford Lodge F & AM #207, a member of Saladin Shrine, a past member of the Mini T Patrol and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. He was also a member of American Legion Post #298. Randy loved spending time with his grandchildren. Randy and Carlene loved going to Lake Michigan, traveling with and meeting friends for dinner.

Friends will be received by Randy's family 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Josè Haro 12:00 noon Thursday, April 11, 2019 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 61 North 23rd Street, Battle Creek, MI 49015. Military honors, committal and interment will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
