James Lee "Jim" Poyser of Battle Creek, MI





Jim, age 60, died unexpectedly Friday evening, November 22, 2013, at his residence.

Jim, the son of Robert J. and Gloria V. (Hemenway) Poyser, was born on March 24, 1953 in Battle Creek; he was a lifetime resident and 1971 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. He was a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room for Battle Creek Health Systems for many years and most recently at Tendercare Nursing Home of Kalamazoo, MI. Jim was an avid Rock & Roll Concert Goer for the past 40 years; loved to rescue and raise kittens, but his true pride and joy most recently was his granddaughter, Khloe.

Jim is survived by his two sons, Craig M. (Fiancee-Brandy Fry) Poyser of Rives Junction, MI and Matt J. (Raechel) Poyser of Richland, MI and his granddaughter, Khloe J. Poyser of Richland. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Janelle L. Edgell on January 18, 2013.

The Memorial Service to celebrate Jim's life will be held on Saturday, November 30th at 3:00 p.m. at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Battle Creek. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jim's honor may be directed to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan, 2500 Watkins Road, Battle Creek, MI 49015.
