Janet A. "Jan" Stevenson

Janet A. "Jan" Stevenson, age 84, of Battle Creek passed away Thursday evening, December 3, 2020 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born in Battle Creek on January 3, 1936, the daughter of Gerald and Mildred (Madison) Sage. Over the years, Jan worked several retail jobs, but her favorite job and the job from which she retired was as the baker at Lakeview School District, where she loved working at Lakeview High School.

Jan married the "Love of Her Life", William E. "Bill" Stevenson in Battle Creek on May 2, 1964. She was sadly preceded in death by her husband of more than 56 years, Bill on November 29, 2020. Jan is survived by a son, Gary Stevenson of White Pigeon; four daughters, Lesa (Les) Rudloff of White Pigeon, Janice (Jim) Dahl of Amsterdam, Netherlands, Judy (David) Mahmat and Kathy Nye, both of Battle Creek; several grandchildren & great-grandchildren; her siblings, Joan Clay, Joyce Baines, Jean Basinski, Jerry Sage; and several nieces & nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Vicky Lynn Peterson.

Jan enjoyed bowling and was involved with several area bowling leagues. She also enjoyed arts & crafts and cooking for her family. A true "Do It Yourselfer", if it needed to be done, Jan would find a way to do it, and she was always ready to try any silly or fun thing asked of her. Family was everything to Jan and she loved spending time with her family and going to all of the sporting events for her grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

Due to current government regulations a private family service to celebrate Jan's life will be held Wednesday afternoon, December 9, 2020.
