Janice Mary "Jan" Ashby

Janice Mary "Jan" Ashby, age 70, of Battle Creek died Wednesday evening October 5, 2022. She was born in Battle Creek on April 14, 1952, the daughter of Harry and Lois (Blackburn) Landreth and graduated from Lakeview High School. A true sales person, Jan could talk to anyone. She owned & operated JAR Associates for many years.

Jan was sadly preceded in death by her loving partner, David Hunt Ross on February 19, 2015. She is survived by her sisters, Renee (Sonny) Shah and Karen Sadler; her brother, Phillip (Christine) Clute; her special grandchildren, Kimberly and Logan (Esther) Ross; and her best friends, JoAnn & Mike Duggan.

Jan loved to entertain, cook and have a "Good Time". She was an avid sports and University of Michigan fan, and enjoyed golfing, playing Chess & Bridge, pottery, sewing, and gardening. Jan was formerly a member of the Riverside and Bedford Valley Country Clubs, the Red Hat Society, Mystery Dinner Club, and the Chess Club at Friends.

A gathering to celebrate Jan's life will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, October 29th at Farley Estes Dowdle Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Alzheimer's Association or the Centrica Care Navigators.
