Jo Ellen Neufeld

Jo Ellen Neufeld, age 61, of Battle Creek and formerly of Boise, Idaho, died peacefully on Monday evening, February 6, 2017 at the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo. She was born in Denver, Colorado on April 10, 1955, the loving daughter of Archie W. and Anna "Ruth" (Cutrell) Neufeld. In 2014, Jo Ellen retired as a Department Manager for Wal-Mart after more than 20 years of service.

Jo Ellen is survived by her daughters, Heather Gilman, and Megan (Rickie Cole) Gilman, both of Battle Creek; three grandchildren, Alysa Gilman, Isaiah Evans, and Caleb Burdette; her brother, Daniel (Cindy) Neufeld of Texas, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was sadly preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William A. "Bill" Kozy in 2014; her parents; and her sister, Cheryl Alderfer.

Jo Ellen enjoyed traveling and visiting the mountains. She also enjoyed history, crafts, sewing, cooking, and reading. Jo Ellen attended Battle Creek Friends Church, and truly loved God and spending time with her family.

A memorial meal and time of sharing will be held 4:00 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Battle Creek Friends Church 1305 Olive Street, Battle Creek, MI 49014.
