Joan K. Kellay

Joan K. Kellay, age 84, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, December 13, 2023 at the Centrica Rose Arbor Place in Kalamazoo.  She was born in Battle Creek on March 20, 1939, the daughter of Earl R. and Thelma A. (Wine) Palmatier and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School.

Joan retired from Post Credit Union in 1999 after more than 32 years and then was employed at Walmart in Battle Creek for the next 19 years.  She attended the North Avenue Church of God and enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.

Joan is survived by her children, Steven Kellay and Sherri (Tom) Anderson, both of Battle Creek; her grandchildren, D.J. & Zack Trine, and Kyle & Sean Anderson; her great-grandchildren, Hadlie, Haisley, Ethan, Eli, and Meredith; and several nieces & nephews;  She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Palmatier; and a sister, Jacqueline Dostie.
