John E. Vaughn

John E. Vaughn, age 67, of Battle Creek, passed away Monday evening October 12, 2020 at the Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence in Battle Creek. He was born in Battle Creek on March 24, 1953, the son of Frederick E. and Laurene E. (Badger) Vaughn and attended Battle Creek Public Schools. John retired from the Kellogg Company in 2006 after more than 36 years of service.
John is survived by his children, John L. (Heather) Vaughn and Elli Vaughn, both of Battle Creek; six grandchildren, Pamela (Brad), Jacob (Ashley), Emmanuel, Dorothy, Corrine and Eva; his brother, Thomas Vaughn; his sister, Marla (Dennis) Smith; and several nieces, nephews, and good friends. He was sadly preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Eva L. Vaughn in 2015; his sister, Joan Lewis; and his niece, Tara Vaughn.
John was a member of the Salvation Army Church in Battle Creek and the Kellogg 25-Year Club. A total "Car Buff", John had many Classic cars and thoroughly enjoyed visiting with his friends at Car Shows and Flea Markets, where he would always say "Buy High & Sell Low"!!
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 16th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. The family would like everyone to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 17th for one final "Car Ride" with John as they travel to Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery where a graveside service will begin at 10:30 a.m. The service will be Live-Streamed and may be viewed on the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care Facebook page or by visiting https://vimeo.com/event/374143.
