Judith "Judy" Gillespie

Judith Gillespie lost her battle with cancer on August 14, 2024 and went home to be with our Lord. She was born October 8,1939 to Gordon C. and Jessie M. Moore in Battle Creek, MI. She was the oldest of three children. 

Judith retired from Kellogg Company in 1997 after retiring from Clark Equipment Company when it downsized and left Battle Creek in 1984. Judith was a member of Battle Creek Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star for 64 years and was a Past Worthy Matron. She enjoyed winters in Weeki Wachee Springs, Florida where she made many friends. She graduated from Battle Creek Central HS in 1957 and had many lifelong friends. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, scuba diving, dune buggying, and snowmobiling. Judith loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Judith was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon C. and Jessie M. Moore and her brother Thomas R. Moore. She is survived by her husband of 65 years Richard D. Gillespie, three children: Gordon D. Gillespie (Tammy Beard), Michael R. Gillespie, and Michelle (Gillespie) Partridge, nine grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. 

In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday August 24,2024 at 23950 Collier Avenue in Battle Creek from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please make any donations to the charity of your choice.
