Karen Losey

Karen Sue (Adams) Losey, 58, of Battle Creek Michigan passed away on May 20, 2021. She was born in Michigan City, IN on November 1st, 1962 to Kenneth Adams and Dorothy Goodwin

Karen graduated from Oxford High School in 1980. She started as a bus aid for Head Start in 1984 and enjoyed working with young children so much she decided to make it her career. She continued to work with the organization while she took night classes and raised five children. It was no easy task. Her journey wasn't typical, but she never gave up! In 2004 she earned her Bachelor's degree in early childhood education.

Karen married Chester Losey in 1989. After 32 years of marriage and five kids, their love was so pure and passionate, that everyone knew they were soulmates.

Karen was an inspiration to many and a strong foundation to many more! She loved hard and nurtured all. She always welcomed anyone in need with open arms. She was the one you could count on in both difficult times and times of joy. Everyone knew that no matter what her door was always open and she would always make room

She is survived by her husband Chester Losey; sons, Jeremy (Lisa) Young and James (Rachel) Losey; daughters, Misty (Syd) Finn, Sammy-Jo Losey and Jennifer Losey; grandchildren, Meggan, Sydney, Jeremy Jr, Nevaeh, Aralyn, Ryan, Hazel, Jebediah, Prestyn, Tristyn, Paige, Ariah and Olivia; step mom Sharon Adams; step dad Richard Goodwin; sisters Sindy Taylor, Yvonne Griffin and Deanna Riggs; brothers Kevin Adams, Brent Adams and Richard Goodwin II; and many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by nephew Howard Adams II; brother Kenneth Adams Jr and her parents Dorothy Goodwin & Kenneth Adams.

Friends will be received Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Funeral services to celebrate Karen's life will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 28 at 20th St. Church of Christ in Battle Creek. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
