Karen M. Thurston, age 51, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully at her home on Monday morning, July 26, 2021. She was born in Battle Creek on July 1, 1970, the loving daughter of Robert and Barbara (Brendum) Boblet. Karen served as a Phlebotomist & Lab Technician at several area hospitals & labs for more than 20 years.
Karen married Daniel H. "Dan" Thurston, II in Battle Creek on May 23, 2007; he survives. She is also survived by her three children, Matthew Boblet of New York, and Kelsey & Brandon Johnson, both of Charlotte; a grandson, Silas Smith of Charlotte; a sister, Traci (Andrew) Babick of Sturgis; and many nieces & nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Boblet, Jr.
Karen loved helping and getting to know others throughout her life. She also enjoyed coloring, cross-stitching, cooking, watching movies, and of course, she loved her dogs, "Lilly" & "Skeeter"
The family will receive friends 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Friday, July 30th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek where funeral services to celebrate Karen's life will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to the American Cancer Society, would be appreciated.
