Katherine Webb

Katherine (Karpenko) Webb, a beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on August 23,2024, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, at the age of 59. Born on April 3, 1965, in Landstuhl, Germany to Walter and Lydia Karpenko.

Kathy graduated from Gull Lake High School, where she laid the foundation for a career dedicated to caring for others. She served as a visiting nurse and worked at Integrated Services of Kalamazoo, embodying compassion and commitment in every aspect of her professional life. Her dedication to her patients and her profession earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and the community she served.

Outside of her career, Kathy was passionate about the great outdoors. She found joy in activities such as hunting, ice fishing, and crafting. Her adventurous spirit extended to seeking out unique rocks along the shores of Lake Superior, moments that could make her get lost in time. Mornings spent sipping coffee while enjoying the beauty of nature were among her treasured rituals. Kathy’s love for animals and her desire to spend quality time with family and friends marked her as a person who cherished both the simple and profound moments in life.

Kathy is survived by her devoted husband, Roland Webb; her brother, Michael Karpenko; her step-brother, P.J. Palmer; her cherished niece, Larissa Mundwiler; her beloved nephew, Logan Karpenko; as well as her parents, Walter and Lydia Karpenko. Each of these family members held a special place in her heart, and she flourished in the love and support of her family.

Kathy leaves behind a legacy of kindness, adventure, and warmth. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A memorial service to celebrate Kathy's life will be 12:00 p.m., Friday, August 30, 2024 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel.
