Kay Louise Ferguson, age 77, of Marshall went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 28, 2017 after fighting Leukemia for many months. She was born August 28, 1940 in Springport, MI to Earl and Lottie Wilburg. Kay graduated from Olivet High School where she was active in the band, the chorus, the debate team and the National Honor Society. Kay was a member of the Lee Methodist Church and sang in the choir and was Saved as a young girl there.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Bart Wilburg; and sister, Jane Hare. She is survived by her sons, Timothy (Elizabeth) Ferguson and Brent (Cecelia) Ferguson; and four grandchildren, Sarah, Katie, Sydney, and Taylor.
Kay spent 25 years in the Nursing field and started Wil Kare Nursing in Portage, MI. She sold the business and moved to Florida and opened a clothing store in Cape Coral, Florida and was very involved in the Downtown Redevelopment District, serving on the Board and chaired two City Council Elections. She was a PR/Fundraiser for Spina Bifida and had her own support group for Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue.
A celebration of Kay's life will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3rd at the Lamplighter OC, 714 S Main St, Olivet, MI 49076. Any donations on her behalf should be directed to the American Cancer Society or the Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence, Battle Creek.
