Keith D. Shellenberger, 67, of Battle Creek, died Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Keith was born March 23, 1948 in Battle Creek to Arthur and Clara (DeMay) Shellenberger. He graduated from St. Philip Catholic High School and went on to work as a machinist at United Steel and Wire for over 40 years. He was also owner of the Shellenberger Foster Care Home.
Keith enjoyed his bowling in the ABC's League and at Nottke's, trivia, card games, slow pitch softball, woodworking, landscaping, vacations, camping and taking care of the pool. He cherished Christmas time and especially listening to Christmas songs. But most of all, Keith loved spending time with his family and friends.
Keith married the former Patricia Roberts on August 22, 1970, who survives. Also surviving are their two daughters, Jennifer (Roy) Preston and Michele Shellenberger; a brother, Ed Shellenberger; five grandchildren Chloe, Madyson, Davontae, Dayvonna and Daychele; and several nieces and nephews.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Rita Hirleman, Mary Williams and Carol Baker, and two brothers, David and Charles Shellenberger.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 pm. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where funeral services to celebrate Keith's life will be 12:00 p.m., Monday, January 18, officiated by Deacon Al Patrick. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Philip Catholic Church.
