Kimberly Ann (Ruis) "Kim" Bartlett of Augusta, MI
Kim, age 56, died Saturday morning, November 22, 2014 at The University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor, with her husband, Neal and mom, Roselynn at her side.
Kim, the daughter of Stanley W. and Roselynn (Carpenter) Ruis, was born on April 24, 1958 in Lansing, MI and was a 1976 graduate of Pennfield High School. She retired in 2012 after 30 years of faithful service at the Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center of Battle Creek in the Reutilization Department. Kim enjoyed the out-of-doors, especially taking walks and bird watching. She was an avid reader and kept herself surrounded with her cat and dog, namely Nikki and Sheila. She loved them both greatly.
Kim was united in marriage to the "Love of Her Life," Bruce Neal Bartlett on December 23, 1977 in the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek. Surviving is her husband of 37 years, Neal; her mother, Roselynn Ruis of Richland, MI; her brother, Henry W. (Bev) Ruis of Benton Harbor, MI; a niece, Heather (Randy Robinson) Ruis of Holland, MI and a nephew, Sean (Heidi) Ruis of Lansing, MI. Kim was preceded in death by her father, Stan in 2000 and her sister, Lynette in 2004.
The Life Celebration Service for Kim will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Richland Chapel 9170 East D Avenue (M-89). Family and friends are invited to continue Kim's Life Celebration with a time of fellowship and luncheon immediately following the Service at The Dock at Bayview, 12504 East D Avenue, Richland, MI 49083. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kim's honor may be directed to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan, 2500 Watkins Road, Battle Creek, MI 49015.
