Kimberly Faye (Courtright) Phillips

Kimberly Faye (Courtright) Phillips, 60, a lifelong Battle Creek resident died unexpectedly on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital.

Kimberly was born October 19, 1960, in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Raymond Boyd and Anne Ruth (Harden) Courtright. She attended Harper Creek High School and spent her life caring for her family.

Surviving are her partner of 25 years, W. Matthew "Matt" Rankin of Battle Creek; her children, Christina Branham, David Lee Hicks, Kenneth (Allison) Hicks, Brent Hicks all of Battle Creek, Shane Cooley of Marshall; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Robin (Bruce) Wood of Battle Creek; a brother, Joseph (Shannon) Phillips of Athens; several nieces and nephews and one cousin. She was formerly married to Gary Hicks. Kimberly was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Steven Harden.

Kimberly loved playing the Lotto and going to the casino. She enjoyed Chinese food and especially Crab Rangoon.

Friends will be received 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2021 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 105 Capital Avenue N.E., Battle Creek, MI 49017. Due to COVID-19 regulations, no more than 25 people are allowed in the building at one time. Inurnment will take place later on the family lot at Hicks Cemetery.
