Kurt R. Conners

Kurt R. Conners, age 87 of Battle Creek died peacefully on Saturday, January 20, 2024.  He was born in Marshall, Michigan on October 14, 1936, the son of Earl and Stella (Hargrove) Conners.  Kurt faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army.  Kurt owned and operated several area businesses over the years, retiring in 1997. Kurt is a member of Battle Creek Lodge #12, Battle Creek Shrine Club and the Saladin Temple, Grand Rapids.  

Kurt married the “Love of His Life”, Lillian B. Spitzer in Battle Creek on September 23, 1967; she sadly preceded him in death on May 3, 2023.  He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Mallard and Cynthia Mallard; his parents; and two sisters, Nadine Briggs and Ila Shenk.  He is survived by a brother-in-law, Steve Briggs; nephew and niece, Matt (Jodie) Briggs and Janine (Troy) Dalman, and their children.       

A private interment will be held at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens and a public memorial gathering to celebrate his life will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 1^st at the Asian Buffet Hibachi Grill, 5700 Beckley Rd., Battle Creek.   In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.  Arrangements by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek.  Personal messages for the family may be placed here at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
