Larry E. Johnson, 74, of Hickory Corners, Michigan died at Bronson at Home Hospice residence on Sunday, June 26, 2016.
Larry was born September 4, 1941 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Burton W. and Cressie W. (Einhardt) Johnson. He was a 1959 graduate of Lakeview High School and a lifelong area resident. Immediately after high school Larry joined Hunter-Prell Co. as a steamfitter apprentice. He later became a co-owner and officer of Hunter-Prell Co. until retiring.
Surviving are a son, Todd A. (Chris) Johnson of Battle Creek; a daughter, Kristi L. (Steve) Wichmann of Battle Creek; four grandchildren, Lexi Latshaw, Trevor Johnson, Kendall Latshaw and Alex Johnson; three brothers, Steve (Linda) Johnson, Denny (Rosemary) Johnson and Rick (Bernadette) Johnson all of Battle Creek; and his special companion, Diane Foghino of Three Rivers, MI. Sadly Larry was preceded in death by a son, Bradley C. Johnson; and his parents.
Larry enjoyed the outdoors, especially sharing hunting, fishing and traveling trips with family and friends. He was an avid sports fan and loved following his children and grandchildren to their games and school activities to support them and cheer them on.
Friends will be received 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Kelly Hadlich 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2016. Committal and interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
