Laura M. Wilcox

Laura M. Wilcox, 98, of Battle Creek, died December 7, 2023.  Laura was born August 23, 1925 in Marcellus, MI to Fred and Gertrude (Mellen) Hartman.  She graduated from Marcellus High School. 

Laura was a former member of First Congregational Church, past president of the PTA for Dudley Elementary and Northwestern Junior High School.  She was on the executive board of Winters Mobile Home Park in Zephryhills, FL.  She taught craft classes and ceramics in Battle Creek and Zephyrhills for many years.  Laura enjoyed oil painting, crocheting, knitting and arts and crafts of all kinds. 

Laura is survived by her daughter, Sally (Tom) Harris, five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  Laura married George W. Wilcox on October 5, 1946.  He sadly preceded her in death in 1986.  She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Crabb; a brother, Lloyd C. Hartman; a sister, Betty Sargent; a half-brother, Fred Hartman and her stepmother, Ila Hartman.
