Lawrence "Larry" "Moe" Douville

Lawrence A. "Larry" "Moe" Douville, age 78, of Battle Creek passed away Tuesday morning, July 21, 2015. He was born in Pequaming, Michigan on July 27, 1936, the loving son of Lawrence L. and Aurelia E. (Hansen) Douville, and faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army. Larry retired in 1988 as the 5th District Inspector with the Michigan State Police after more than 28 years of service.

Larry married the "Love of His Life", Nancy J. Redmond in Newberry, Michigan on August 8, 1964; she survives. He is also survived by his son, Sgt. Andy Douville, M.S.P. of Battle Creek; "Grandpa's Girl", Addison Douville; step-grandchildren, Derek & Megan Goff; daughter-in-law, Angie Douville; an adopted granddaughter, Lauren Underwood; a sister Margaret (Howard) Chartier; nephews, Mark Chartier, Larry (Karen) Redmond, and a niece, Cheryl (Donald) Martin.

Larry was very athletic and played every sport he could during high school. He was very active with the F.O.P. #153 for more than 30 years and enjoyed golfing, dogs, and spending time with his family.

The family will receive friends 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 24, 2015 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care where funeral services to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 25, 2015 with Rev. Jon T. Haug, Pastor of St. Peter Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment with full military honors will be held privately at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
