Lilleana Chastity Bottom

Lilleana Chastity Bottom, 45 of Battle Creek, MI passed away at her home on January 29th, 2025. 'Chat' was the first daughter of Lanetta Katherine Cochran (Bottom) and Samuel Lee Cochran. She devoted many years to caring for her parents and enjoyed doing so, she was a staple to the family and a hard-working woman. Chat attended Battle Creek Central High School where she became a twice All-American Athlete playing multiple sports, she was always up for a challenge and found great excitement in trying something new. Chat met her soul mate, Kenneth Skidmore, in 2002 at Franklin Plastics, fitting in right away, he became a part of the family and she was proud to share with him her biggest accomplishment in life- her son. 

Chat was a loving mother who you could talk to with ease, there was no information too big to share with her, and was always only a phone call away. The highlight of her day was talking with her kids or siblings after work and filling them in on anything she may have encountered that day, and she never missed a single detail. Chat worked at Gallagher Uniform for 6 years and enjoyed being an employee there. Her coworkers were very supportive and inclusive, they quickly became more than just co-workers, especially her special friend, Lauren. If Chat was not at work, you would find her in the kitchen trying new recipes and experimenting with new flavors. Chat enjoyed putting a smile on her family's face and holding the title of the best cook in the family, and you knew to stay out of the kitchen.

Chat was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and several other loved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She is survived by her only child, Larry (Trey) Williams III, and the daughter she always wished for, Tahler Williams. Further surviving her are her siblings- Samuel Bottom, Kira (Corey) Duke, and Bobby Bottom. Additionally, she had several aunts, uncles, and cousins, 21 nieces and nephews, and more than 20 great-nieces and nephews. 

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Battle Creek from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm for those who wish to see her before cremation takes place, as per her wishes. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8th beginning at 12:00 pm at the same above location with a celebration of life following the service at an off-site location for friends and family that is TBD.
