Loretta Jane "Granny" Granfors, 81, of Battle Creek died peacefully Bronson at Home Hospice Residence on Monday, May 1, 2016, with her family at her side.
She was born November 26, 1934 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Clarence and Cecil (Briggs) Wilson. She was a 1952 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. Loretta retired from Clark Equipment Company, where she was employed in the bookkeeping and accounts payable departments.
Loretta married Jack W. Granfors on August 17, 1971 in Battle Creek. Sadly she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack on December 11, 2011; an infant daughter, Carrie Lisa Granfors on January 10, 1972; her parents and a sister, Vivian Patton. Surviving are a daughter, Stacy E. Thurman of Morganton, NC; two sons, Gary P. Granfors of Battle Creek, Steven (Debbie Grable) Bankert of Battle Creek; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a brother, Jim Wilson in California.
Granny, as she was known to all, was an avid reader, enjoyed cruising for garage sales and antiques, traveling, doing arts, crafts and painting.
Memorial services will be held at Ft. Custer National Cemetery 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016. Memorial contributions in memory of Granny may be made to Bronson at Home Hospice Residence, 165 N.
