Margaret G. "Peggy" (Pisercio) Bednarski of Richland, MI


Peggy, age 92, died Friday morning, June 14, 2013 at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo, MI.
Peggy, the daughter of James and Doris (Williams) Pisercio, was born on November 3, 1920 in Detroit, MI. She was a 1938 graduate of Southwestern High School in Detroit. Peggy retired from Montgomery Ward as a Traffic Controller in Allen Park, MI after 36 years of faithful service. She and her husband, Pete moved to Richland, MI in 1998. In her spare time, Peggy enjoyed reading, bowling, swimming, playing cards and watching sports on TV.
A woman ahead of her time, Peggy excelled in her career and was very broad-minded and independent. She was the matriarch of her family. Peggy was unselfish in the love she had for her family and they came first in her life. This love was returned ten times over and she will be greatly missed.
On June 3, 1939 in Detroit, MI, Peggy was united in marriage to Peter F. Bednarski and he preceded her in death on March 5, 2001. Surviving is her daughter, Marlene D. (Jim) Berry of Lake Doster (Plainwell), MI; by her two granddaughters, Kathleen A. (Joel) Smith of Manistee, MI and Julie K. (Matthew) Foster of Richland and by her four precious great grandchildren, Olivia and Luke Smith and Grace and Shelby Foster. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents.
The Memorial Service to celebrate Peggy's life will be held on Saturday, July 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the Plainwell First United Methodist Church, 200 Park Street, Plainwell, MI 49080, with Rev. Kathy Brown, Pastor, officiating. Final interment will be in Grand Lawn Cemetery, Detroit. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Peggy's honor may be directed to Kairos Dwelling, 2945 Gull Road, Kalamazoo, MI 49048 or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 21311 Civic Center Drive, Southfield, MI 48076 or online at www.nationalmssociety.org.
