Maria Guadelupe Shultz

Maria Guadelupe Shultz, 76, of Albion passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 with her family by her side. Maria was born December 17, 1944 in Marshall, Michigan to Jose and Luz Garcia (Bocanegra).

She will be remembered for her love of traveling; especially in the Fall, going to concerts, and enjoying the casino with family and friends.

Maria (Lupe) was a tax preparer in Albion before stopping to become her beloved son Keithie's caretaker for 30+ years. Her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchild were the joys of her life and will miss her deeply.

She is survived by her sons Keithie Shultz, Jason (Heidi) Shultz; daughter Crista (Teddy) Stephens. Her grandchildren Ai, Ashley, Justin, Jordan, Lynn, Britney, James, and Jaden; brothers, Reno Traevino, Reyes Garcia, Jose Garcia; sisters, Irene (Larry) Fox, Gloria Garcia of Georgia, and Beatrice Rollins of Florida. Also, many nieces, cousins, and 10 great-grandchildren.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Keith Shultz of 53 years; her parents Jose C. and Luz M. Garcia (Bocanegra); brother Juan Garcia; sisters Sylvia Garcia, Josie Garcia, Mary Lou Leche, and granddaughter Mea Shultz.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Skeets Gehrman Memorial Park, 129 Bevier St., Battle Creek, 49017 (across from Bedford Lions) in memory of her and her sister, Mary Leche.
