Marjorie Alice (Russell) Millard

October 24, 1936 — April 3, 2025

Battle Creek, Michigan

Marjorie Millard, a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025.

Marge was born October 24, 1936, in Olivet, Michigan to Russell H. and Margrethe (Russell) Rice. She was a graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and in the early 50’s and 60’s was employed at Miller Jewelry in downtown Battle Creek. Marjorie retired from the Kellogg Company in 1991, after 35 years, working 25 years in packaging and 10 years in utilities.

Marjorie Alice Rice was united in marriage to Clarence T. “Ted” Millard on September 21, 1960. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Millard, who passed on March 26, 2010, her two daughters, Linda “Lyn” Millard, who left us on November 4, 2018, and Cynthia "Cindy" McConkie-Bullock, who departed on August 29, 2002; her mother and father, Margrethe and Lloyd Pyke and three brothers, Paul Rice, James A. Rice and Richard Rice.

Marjorie's enduring resilience and warm spirit left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her, creating a legacy of treasured memories. She is survived by three grandchildren: Cameron McConkie of Stevens Point, Wisconsin; Shagwhelin Bullock of San Diego, California; and Dakota Bullock of Southport, North Carolina. She is also survived by several nephews, nieces, cousins and their families. They will carry her love in their hearts forever.

A dedicated member of the 25-year club at Kellogg's, she found joy in gardening, farming and painting shirts throughout her life. She played pipe organs during the 50’s and 60’s at various churches in the area. Marjorie lived with an abundance of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Marjorie's life exemplified the strength of family bonds and the quiet grace she infused into every moment. Her absence will be deeply felt, and her memory will be lovingly held by all who had the privilege of knowing her. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Salvation Army in Battle Creek, Michigan.

A graveside service to celebrate Marjorie’s life will be officiated by Pastor Steve Olmstead at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2025, where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Ted. Personal messages for the family may be placed here at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
