Mark R. Trompeter of Kalamazoo, MI and formerly of Elmhurst, IL,
Mark, age 54, died Monday morning, July 21, 2014 at his residence following a courageous battle with brain cancer and surrounded by his loving family.
Mark, the son of Robert E. and Anne V. (Torney) Trompeter, was born on June 25, 1960 in Elmhurst, IL. Mark was the 6th of 9 siblings. He never had his own room, had one drawer and a ¼ of a closet. He attended Visitation Catholic grade school and then went to York Community High School, where he developed one of his life passions in woodworking. Throughout his high school career, he was on the gymnastics team, which he carried on to his son, Bradley Trompeter. After high school Mark attended Illinois State University and received his Bachelors in Accounting. A few of his other passions were fixing the house up, spending time with his family, and building furniture in his woodshop. Since retiring from Kellogg's of Battle Creek, MI, where he finished his career in Corporate Accounting for 30 years, Mark enjoyed his last closing years spending time with family and friends.
Mark married the love of his life Christina M. Morris on June 16, 1984 in Virgil, IL who survives. He was blessed with four children. His eldest son married Jessica Ochoa in June of 2007. Brad and Jessica have two children, Jeremiah and Elijah. His middle son, Ben, married Ashley Thomas in May of 2010. Ben and Ashley are due in December 2014 with the third grandchild. He walked his one and only daughter, Catie down the aisle and gave her away in marriage in September of 2013 to Andrew Beeke. Also surviving are 3 sisters, Anne Marie (Bob) Stezowski of Villa Park, IL, Jean (Dave) Dierlam of Lisle,IL, Mary (Bill) Kauck of Elmhurst,IL; 5 brothers Robert (Kim) of LaGrange,IL, Timothy (Carol) of LaGrange,IL, John (Laura) of Downers Grove,IL, Michael of Villa Park,IL, Joseph (Catherine) of Naperville,IL and numerous nieces and nephews. Mark was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Patrick on January 9, 1987.
The Memorial Service to celebrate Mark's life will be held on Saturday, July 26th at 11:00 a.m. at the Gracespring Bible Church, 8643 Gull Road, Richland with Jeremy Heavey, Pastor of Community Life and Howie Ohman, Pastor of Worship Arts, officiating. Friends will be received on Friday, July 25th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Richland Chapel, 9170 East D Avenue (M-89).
