Mary Louise Leche, 73, of Battle Creek passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 30, 2021, with her daughter, Crystal by her side.
Mary was born January 12, 1948 in Marshall, Mi to Jose and Luz Garcia (Bocanegra.)
She will be remembered for her quick wit and famous tamales that were loved by all and that she made into a lifelong passion. Mary who was loved by many enjoyed her time at the casinos and taking care of her boys from afar. Her daughter, Crystal, and her grandchild were also joys of her life.
She is survived by her sons Douglas L. Leche, Devin J. Leche and daughter Crystal M. Leche. Grandchildren Paige Enos, Devin D. Leche, Rylee Russell, Ashly Hueckel, and Selena Burke. And brothers Reno Traevino, Reyes Garcia, Jose Garcia; sisters Irene (Larry) Fox, Gloria Garcia of Georgia and Beatrice Rollins of Florida. Also, many nieces, cousins, and 5 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jose C. and Luz M. Garcia (Bocanegra); brother Juan Garcia, sisters; Sylvia Garcia, Josie Garcia, Maria Shultz (Lupe), grandson Robert E. Burke III; nieces Tara Richardson and Lori Garcia.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Skeets Gehrman Memorial Park, 129 Bevier St., Battle Creek, 49017 (across from Bedford Lions) in memory of her and her sister Lupe (Maria Shultz).
